BWoSCC International Nurses Day

June 07, 2021 9:30 AM

Annual day in recognition of Florence Nightingale’s birth. We engage with nurses, patients and the wider multidisciplinary team to gain insight and obtain perceptions of the role of the nurse from within each group.

On this day, it is hoped to thank staff for the hard work they do every day to show that they are valued and supported to continue to deliver patient care of the highest standard.

Audrey Morrison, as a previous Florence Nightingale Foundation award recipient, actively champions these events and is instrumental in making this event a success. In honour of Florence Nightingale’s special anniversary, the PDER team wear nurse costumes from the Crimean era and are visible in different areas of the hospital throughout this day, raising awareness and asking patients what Florence would think of nursing and our hospitals in our current pandemic.
