World Delirium Day 15th March 2023

The PDERU Team ( Practice Development , Education and Research team ) in conjunction with the COPS Team ( Care of Older Persons Service ) are planning an event to recognise World Delirium Day.
We will have a display in the main foyer for the public to see how we adopt monitoring for early recognition of delirium in our patients. It is therefore an opportunity to educate, raise awareness and prevent delirium through promotion of the event here at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.
The condition can be caused by chronic illness, changes in metabolic balance, medication and infection. The condition is preventable and treatable; however, early recognition is essential.
